Trey 2 Months
Trying to keep up with this blog! My little guy is now 2 months old! I love this little guy more each day. I could hold him for hours and watch him. When I look at his features I love his little ears, this is the first feature I really noticed about him when he was born because they were so small, yet so detailed. Trey still has really big, deep blue eyes..the whites of his eyes are so clear which make his eyes stand out more. Sometimes when I look into his eyes I feel like I am looking at myself...it's bizarre. He has a really bald, round head, sometimes I call him Mr. Clean...he is SLOWLLLY getting a little peach fuzz on top...it looks like it is dark brown even though his eye brows and eye lashes are blonde. His skin is very light (okay practically transparent) but I have faith that he will be able to get a tan. LOL! He has a button nose and very full lips (everyone says his mouth looks like me). He has pretty big hands and feet for his size. He has skinny little legs and a round belly...Rich calls him Uncle Sonny because his body shape is much like his uncle's. I LOVE it when he smiles because he is still very serious most of the time. I kind of like his seriousness because I am so goofy that I admire people that really know what's going on around them and take life in before reacting. When Trey smiles it is a little crooked and he gums show which is adorable. He is very expressive with his eyebrows which is funny. Whether he is giving you his "principal look" or laughing, they will add to his expression.
The first 5 weeks were very difficult...lots of sleepless nights, feeding, burping, pooping, being PEED on, etc...but now I am getting to enjoy him. I want to squeeze him and never let him be tainted by the world out there. I rock him and feed him at bed time and am able to put him in his crib and he will just move his feet and hands for HOURS before falling asleep. We have a video monitor in our bedroom and I can watch him move around and hear him cooing. It's amazing that he can just entertain himself for that long. He is actually a really good baby, too. The only time he cries is when he is hungry, wet or when he is pooping. Rich and I laugh because when he poops his face turns beet red and he cries or screams once like a girl and then immediately has a smile on his face. It's funny. He will do the same thing when he toots, too.
I go back to work next week and I DON'T WANT TO!!! I want to stay right here with my little man. But, I do need to get back into shape. :)
I am so blessed with this healthy, sweet baby boy. I couldn't ask for anything more (besides my family to live closer). I wish they could love on him every day.
Thank you, God, for this miracle. It's amazing.

Richard Lee Elsasser III - "Trey"
Trey was born on November 3, 2010 at 8:19pm. He weighed 7 lbs. 6oz. and 19.5 inches long. We went in on Tues. night to get induced and had him Wed. evening. What a long 2 days...but of course worth it. Trey is now 5 weeks old! And I am finally taking the time to catch up on his birth. :) I've been TIRED!!!
After waiting 24 hours and pushing for 4 hours, my poor little boy had a rough start when he was born as he swallowed his meconium (first bowl movement) before I delivered. They had a whole crew of ER Doctors and nurses working on him as soon as he was born. It was very scary as they were pumping out his lungs. After about 2 hours of checking to make sure he was okay, I finally got to hold him.
For nine months I thought for sure this child was going to come out with black, curly hair and dark brown eyes...but instead when he came out I immediately thought, "He looks exactly like me!" Same eyes, eyebrows, and really deep, blue eyes.
He lovvved to be under the heat lamp, he still loves to be warm to this day. He has had a very "serious" face since he was born, so when he gives you even a "half" smile, I get really excited. :) He is really a love and very cute (in my eyes)...luckily he seems to be photogenic as well.

Happy Halloween!
Due TODAY!
Except I don't think I'm going to be having the baby today, on Halloween. I have no contractions, still feeling great...cleaned the entire house and garage. :) Just went out to eat at La Playa's. So, I decided to take my last pics since I will be getting induced on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I'm so ROUND and BIG! I'm excited! But I looked at Rich and said, "I feel like I should be working or doing something productive since I don't have to work tomorrow..." He said, "You're fine, you're allowed to take a couple days off." And then he fell asleep. LOL! Wish I was as laid-back as him! :)

"God's ultimate goal for your life on earth is not comfort, but character development. He wants you to grow up spiritually and become like Christ."
From the start I want to teach my child that his ultimate goal is to become more like Christ. It is the hardest thing to do, but hopefully each life lesson will bring him closer to God. :)
